BARBOURVILLE— Whitley County running back Dee Parker put on a show during Friday’s 34-22 come from behind win over Knox Central.
Parker had touchdown runs of 15, 91, 76, 5, and 50 yards as the Colonels rallied from a 10-0 first half deficit to defeat the Panthers.
Knox Central took a 3-0 lead with 8:23 left in the first quarter after a 27-yard field goal Kobe Woolum while Brayden Sizemore’s 10-yard touchdown run gave the Panthers a 10-0 edge with 11:14 remaining in the first half.
Parker added touchdown runs of 15 and 91 yards to give Whitley County a 14-10 advantage heading into halftime.
A six-yard touchdown run by Knox Central’s Johnathan Hobbs allowed the Panthers to regain a 16-14 edge at the 8:49 mark of the third quarter.
But a 76-yard touchdown run combined with a five-yard score by Parker allowed the Colonels to take a 27-16 lead midway through the fourth quarter.
Knox Central answered with Hobbs throwing a 48-yard touchdown pass to Spencer Pritchard to make the score, 27-22 with 2:36 left in regulation.
Parker’s fifth rushing touchdown, a 50-yarder, sealed the win for Whitley County.
