CORBIN — Williamsburg hooked up in another thriller, hanging tough with CHAT before falling in a five-set battle.
The Lady Yellow Jackets lost the first set, 25-18 before winning sets two and three, 25-8, and 25-20, respectively. CHAT won the final two sets, 25-18, and 15-10.
“Another high quality match for us,” Williamsburg coach Dirk Berta said. “CHAT is always solid, we have a lot of respect for their coaches and the program that they run. We came up just a bit short tonight and just get out of serve receive when we needed to in the last two sets. I love the effort and grit that this team plays with and their togetherness. “We’re all pulling the rope together and that’s what it takes,” he added. “We are excited for the opportunity this weekend at our All ‘A’ Invitational Tournament where we will, again, play quality opponents and challenge ourselves. As always, Go Jackets.”
