David Halcomb returns as Whitley County Lady Colonels softball coach

WILLIAMSBURG — Guess who’s back?
A familiar face is back as head coach of the Whitley County High School Softball Program as David Halcomb takes over the reigns once again.
Halcomb coached the Lady Colonels from 2002 to 2011, winning two district titles while leading Whitley County to five regional tournament appearances.
“This is something that wasn’t on my radar or that I ever expected to do again, but I have always enjoyed the sport of fastpitch softball and count it as another opportunity to minister to and be a positive influence on this group of student-athletes,” Halcomb said. “I love Whitley County and will work hard to develop quality softball players who will perform at a high level both on the field and in the classroom.
“I’m looking forward to putting together a great coaching staff and getting started with our team in reaching our goals of winning championships,” he added. “Go Colonels!”
