Rachel Howard turned in another stellar effort in the pitcher’s circle, striking out 14 batters while allowing only seven hits and one earned run to help guide Pineville (18-6) to a 5-1 win once Knox Central (10-8) in the 51st District Fastpitch Tournament title game.
The Lady Mountain Lions scored two runs in the first inning while adding another in the third inning to take a 3-0 lead. Pineville added two more insurance runs in the top of the seventh, securing the four-run win.
Howard had a double and drove in two runs while Rayanna Maidon led the way with three hits and a run scored. Kameran Evans, Baileigh Bargo-Vaughn, and Addison Slone each finished with a hit apiece.
