LONDON — North Laurel ran its record to 2-0 with another 15-run win on Thursday.
The Lady Jaguars cruised to an easy, 17-2, win over Lincoln County while recording a 15-0 victory during their season-opener against Leslie County on Monday.
North Laurel finished with 19 hits while eight of those turned out to go for extra bases.
“Good night for the girls tonight. Good offensive night, everyone had a hit,” North Laurel coach Chris Edwards said. “Eight extra base hits also. Lincoln County has a very young team and we took advantage of that tonight.
“Coach Ray is doing a great job with that team,” he added. “He has so many youngsters and they are gonna be good if they stay on the track he has them on. Got Emma on the mound tonight. Basketball just ended for her but she threw pretty well in the cold conditions. I hope it warms up soon. Go Jags.”
The Lady Jaguars scored eight runs in the first inning while adding another eight runs in the second inning before wrapping up the win with a run in the third inning.
Lead-off hitter Katie Sams set the tone, going 3-for-3 with three RBI, and three runs scored while Tessa Monhollen was 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs scored. Emma Carl, Saige McClure, Morgan Edwards, and Bella Finley each delivered two hits, and two RBI while scoring two runs apiece. Bella Sizemore finished with two hits and scored three times while Ellie Adams had two hits, an RBI and one run scored. Katie Keen had a hit, an RBI, and two runs scored while Lucy Jo Linville finished with a hit, an RBI, and a run scored.
