Clay County snaps nine-game losing skid to Jackson County with 56-52 district road win 

MCKEE — Clay County snapped a nine-game losing skid against 49th District rival Jackson County on Friday, defeating the Lady Generals on the road, 56-52.

The Lady Tigers trailed 30-25 at halftime but used a 22-7 run in the third quarter to take a 47-37 advantage into the final quarter of play.

Clay County held on and recorded its first win over Jackson County since, March 15, 2021.

The win improved the Lady Tigers to 15-10 while the Lady Generals dropped a game under .500 (11-12).

Carly Fultz led Clay County with 16 points and six rebounds while Madison Pendland had 14 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Anna Samples turned in an 11-point, three-rebound and six assists effort.

Abby Gilbert led the Lady Generals with 21 points, 19 rebounds and six blocks.
