RICHMOND — Matt Rhymer’s Whitley County Colonels (5-5) needed a win to gain some momentum heading into next week’s Class 4A playoffs, and they got just that by pulling out a thrilling 33-31 win over Madison Southern.
Dee Parker was hard to hand, rushing for 300 yards and four touchdowns, according to Rhymer.
“Awesome team win, we showed a lot of heart and great character,” Rhymer said. “Total team effort. Had a lot of guys step up and make some huge plays.
“The offensive line did an awesome job controlling the line of scrimmage and allowed us to have a lot of success running the football,” he added. “Dee Parker had 300 yards and four touchdowns. We are looking forward to preparing for post season play.”
