HARLAN — Bell County and Pineville hooked up in a three-set thriller during Saturday’s opening round action of the 13th Region Tournament.
The Lady Bobcats pulled off a 3-0 win but they had to earn it against a Lady Mountain Lion team that just captured their second 51st District championship in a row.
Bell County managed to pull out a slim 28-26 win in the first set before capturing a 25-16 victory in the second set.
Pineville continued to hang tough before falling to the Lady Bobcats, 27-25, in the third set.
Bell County advances to Monday’s semifinal action and will play Whitley County.
