The tournaments, featuring 8-10 year-olds, 9-11 year-olds, and 10-12 year-olds, will begin with pool play games from Saturday, July 20 to Monday, July 22. The semifinals for each tournament will take place on July 23, with all three championship games scheduled for July 24.
Corbin Little League president Jeff Chadwell said he is excited Corbin Little League will be hosting the events.
“These are exciting times for Corbin Little League and the City of Corbin,” he said. “We are expecting a large number of Little League fans from across the state to attend. It’s a great honor for us to host these events.”
Chadwell also mentioned the efforts put into organizing the tournaments.
“We are aware of the hard work involved, but we are prepared for the challenge,” he said. “Fans visiting Corbin will have the opportunity to explore the city’s attractions and dining options during their stay. Also, we are pleased to announce that the L4 Security 13th Region Media Network will be live streaming selected games from each tournament, including the championship games, for those unable to attend.”
Each age division will feature 8 teams representing seven districts from the state.
As the host, District 4 will have two teams (champions and runners-up) participating in the tournaments, making a total of 45 games to be played at Miller Park over the five-day period.
“We are looking forward to the start of the tournaments,” Chadwell said. “Hopefully, we will have good weather throughout the week to make sure that all games are played at their scheduled times. If you are a baseball fan, Miller Park will be the place to be.”
