PRESTONSBURG — The Cardinals spotted Prestonsburg a 2-0 lead in the first inning but methodically put together a rally to stun the Black Cats with a 3-2 win.
South Laurel (16-9) scored runs in the fourth, sixth and seventh innings to pull out the win.
Will Alsip was 2-for-2 with two RBI while Reece Noble connected with a run scoring hit as well. Vince Sizemore and Austin Byrd also added hits while Byrd scored twice and Keaton Creech scored a run.
Jamison West pitched four innings, allowing two hits, and two earned runs while striking out four batters. Tyler Curry pitched a scoreless three innings while getting the win. He allowed one hit and struck out five batters.
