DOMINATING FASHION: South Laurel girls’ soccer team records third straight 10-0 win

The defending 13th Region girls’ soccer champion South Laurel Lady Cardinals are showing why many consider them the front runners to 3-peat after opening the season with a perfect 4-0 mark.

South Laurel recorded its third consecutive 10-0 win on Thursday, defeating Knox Central.

The Lady Cardinals have outscored their opponents, 34-0, this season.

“We hadn’t played Knox in a few years and really didn’t know what to expect,” South Laurel coach Lora Rison said. “We went out and played our game. The girls continue to work and distribute the ball well.

“Their play right now is unselfish and it’s proving to be in our favor,” she added. “We still have work to do, but we really like how we are playing and hope to keep up the level of play.”

Ella Rison and Belle Dotson each led the way with three goals while Josie Gill added two goals. Gracie Hoskins, and Kyla Heuser Also scored a goal apiece.

South Laurel is scheduled to be back in action Saturday on the road against Lincoln County.
