For some odd reason, we\u2019ve been getting laughing emojis any time the Jaguars are mentioned as our No. 1 team. No one has played a tougher slate than North Laurel, and they are the defending region champions after cruising past Knox Central in the regional title game last season. So yeah, until a region team beats the Jaguars, who have also been playing without one of their key players, they\u2019ll be ranked at the top spot. There is a reason why they\u2019re ranked in the top 10 in the state. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
2. Harlan (9-1, 2-0)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Green Dragons saw their nine-game win streak come to an end but we will be the first to say, Harlan is the real deal. The Green Dragons will be making a run at the regional crown this season \u2014 they\u2019re that good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
3. Harlan County (7-3, 1-0)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kyle Jones\u2019 squad had a fantastic showing in the King of the Bluegrass, and will only continue to get better. This team will be making a deep postseason run as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
4. South Laurel (7-3, 2-2)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Cardinals turned in an impressive week by winning the Legacy Nissan Dribble Drive Classic. Senior guard Eli Gover turned in one heck of a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
5. Corbin (4-2, 2-0)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Redhounds dropped a spot but will now get to show just how good they are by hosting the Cumberland Falls Invitational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
6. Whitley County (7-2, 2-0)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Coach Eric Swords has done a fantastic job with the Colonels. They turned in solid efforts once again this past week against top notch competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
7. Barbourville (6-4, 4-0)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Tigers continue to impress, and have a perfect 4-0 mark against regional teams. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
8. Williamsburg (6-3, 4-2)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Coach Anthony Hibbard has worked wonders with the Yellow Jackets, who continue to impress on the offensive side of the ball.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
9. Bell County (3-5, 3-2)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Don\u2019t look now but the Bobcats are starting to heat up. Coach Brad Sizemore continues to show he\u2019s one of the top coaches in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
10. (Tie) Clay County (4-3, 3-1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Tigers are back to their winning ways after some great performances by Hayden Harris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
