North Laurel fell to 1-1 on the season but the Lady Jaguars showed they can hang with the state\u2019s best teams during their 73-60 loss to DuPont Manual on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chloe McKnight turned in a 23-point scoring effort to lead North Laurel while Emily Sizemore finished with 17 points, and Brooke Nichelson added 10 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDuPont Manual is one of top two or three teams in the state and probably has the quickest guards,\u201d North Laurel coach Eddie Mahan said. \u201cThe way they play is unique in girls basketball. Against a team like that mistakes turn into quick points for them and we had too many mistakes. It\u2019s challenges like this though that I believe will make us so much better by the end of the year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe play by our senior leader Emily Sizemore is exactly what you expect from her,\u201d he added. \u201cNo matter if we needed a basket, a rebound or her to create for someone else she seemed to come through for us in our time of need. It\u2019s great to have that to depend on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
