Cath"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The state\u2019s No. 4 ranked team, the North Laurel Jaguars, started the season on the right foot by defeating Lexington Catholic at The Jungle on Monday, 77-65.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Led by Reed Sheppard\u2019s 23-point, eight-rebound, and eight-assist effort, North Laurel (1-0) hit 24-of-43 shot attempts from the floor, including hitting 6-of-10 shot attempts from 3-point range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brody Brock finished with four 3-pointers, and 18 points while Gavin Chadwell scored 17 points and finished with seven rebounds. Ryan Davidson added 13 points, and eight rebounds while Kyler Elza had three points, Colton Rawlings scored two points, and Chase Keen finished with one point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Jaguars outrebounded the Knights, 35-27, while forcing Lexington Catholic into 10 turnovers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sheppard scored nine points in the first quarter while Davidson added five points to help lead North Laurel to a 21-15 edge entering the second quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brock hit two 3-pointers, and scored eight points while Chadwell added six points to allow the Jaguars\u2019 lead grow to 39-27 entering halftime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chadwell added six more points in the third quarter while Sheppard scored five points and Brock hit a trey, helping North Laurel take a 55-39 edge into the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lexington Catholic outscored the Jaguars, 26-22, during the final eight minutes but the damage had been done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images
