Corbin controlled much of the action and generated several scoring opportunities before finally breaking through. Hadley Elmore provided the assist on Goins\u2019 eventual game-winning goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt was a good win for us,\u201d Corbin coach Hannah Goins said. \u201cWe came out strong tonight. We controlled the game and played well together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After creating chances throughout the opening half, the Lady Redhounds were rewarded when Goins scored to give Corbin a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe had a lot of opportunities and were finally able to put one in toward the end of the first half,\u201d Goins said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Corbin maintained its intensity after the break and kept Model off the scoreboard. The Lady Redhounds continued creating opportunities of their own but were unable to add to their advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe kept up the intensity and held them off in the second half,\u201d Goins said. \u201cWe had several chances in the second half, and still need to work on finishing those opportunities, but we\u2019ve been playing and controlling the game very well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For Goins, the shutout victory was another indication of the progress her team continues to make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
