<\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"LONDON \u2014 Eden Begley and Presley Thompson scored two goals apiece as North Laurel returned from a nine-day layoff with an impressive 7-1 win over crosstown rival South Laurel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Lady Jaguars wasted little time shaking off the layoff, using a strong opening 15 minutes to take control of the match. North Laurel carried a 5-1 advantage into halftime and added two more goals in the second half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The victory improved North Laurel to 2-1-1 on the season, while South Laurel fell to 2-4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Begley provided an immediate spark for the Lady Jaguars with two goals, while Thompson also found the back of the net twice. Annabelle Welch and McKinley Mastin each added a goal with North Laurel\u2019s other score coming on an own goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
South Laurel\u2019s lone goal came on a penalty kick after North Laurel was called for a foul inside the box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur girls played well in the first 15 minutes to give us an early lead, and they didn\u2019t look back,\u201d North Laurel coach Jason Welch said. \u201cWe gave up a PK for a foul in the box that we were just a little too aggressive on, and we were able to go into halftime up 5-1. We were able to add two more in the second half to finish out 7-1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
