WILLIAMSBURG \u2014 Spencer Prichard found the end zone three times while Knox Central\u2019s defense forced multiple turnovers as the Panthers dominated Whitley County, 42-2, Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m proud of our guys tonight,\u201d Knox Central coach Wayne Mills said. \u201cI thought we played a good game tonight. Our kids went out there and took care of business. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s always good to get to 1-0,\u201d he added. \u201cWe haven\u2019t started the season with a win in a while, so this is nice. We will enjoy this during the weekend, and then start focusing on a very good Danville team.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whitley County entered the game losers of three straight against the Colonels, and 3-15 against Whitley County since 1990.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prichard scored on the ground, through the air and on special teams as Knox Central built a 28-0 halftime advantage and never looked back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Panthers struck first when Prichard scored on a 13-yard run with 7:27 remaining in the opening quarter. Knox Central\u2019s defense also made its presence felt early with Lucas Partin recording an interception as the Panthers carried a 7-0 lead into the second quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Partin came up with another big defensive play when he recovered a Whitley County fumble with 10:34 remaining in the second quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Knox Central turned the takeaway into points when Eli Partin connected with Prichard on a 64-yard touchdown pass at the 8:05 mark, extending the Panthers\u2019 advantage to 14-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The turnovers continued to hurt Whitley County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Knox Central recovered another fumble with 6:03 remaining in the half, and two plays later Brayden Sizemore scored on a two-yard run to make it 21-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Panthers added a one-yard rushing touchdown late in the second quarter to take a commanding 28-0 advantage into halftime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prichard wasted no time adding to the lead after the break, returning the second-half kickoff for a touchdown to make it 35-0 and complete his three-touchdown night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sizemore scored his second touchdown on a three-yard run with 2:15 remaining in the third quarter. The extra point gave Knox Central a 42-0 advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whitley County\u2019s only points came in the fourth quarter when the Colonels recorded a safety after the ball went through the end zone, producing the final 42-2 margin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
