The Lady Colonels have now won four of their last five games and improved to 10-20 on the season after collecting 15 hits in the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur team is growing up and playing together as a team,\u201d Whitley County coach David Halcomb said. \u201cI\u2019m very happy for them. This makes our fourth win in the last five games. We pounded out 15 hits and were able to push runs across when we needed to. There\u2019s some things we need to clean up on defense, but we will. We will learn from our mistakes, keep having fun and continue to keep getting better. Good road win for us. Go Colonels.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anderson led the way with three doubles and two RBI while Jazlynn Brown added a huge effort by finishing 3-for-4 with two RBI. Katelyn Shepherd also delivered with two hits and three RBIs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bella Trent added two hits and an RBI, Payton Hurst drove in a run, and Madilyn Rains and Mia Prewitt each collected hits for Whitley County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Lady Colonels broke the game open with a five-run third inning before adding three more runs in the fifth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Megan McKiddy earned the complete-game victory in the circle after allowing 10 hits and six runs (only two earned) while striking out six.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bell County finished with 10 hits in the loss. Jayda Bodteng went 3-for-4 with an RBI, Tristan Saylor added two hits, and Raeghan Moyers, BryLeigh Ferguson and Emily Perdue each drove in runs. Brylee Redmond had a hit and scored twice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
