CORBIN \u2014 The Corbin Lady Redhounds are winners of three straight and beginning to pick up steam after defeating Leslie County, 5-4, on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Redhounds are now 8-17 with key games against Whitley County, Bell County, and Pineville on the horizon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJust so proud of my Lady Redhounds tonight,\u201d Corbin coach Crystal Stidham said, \u201cWe picked up the win, which is great for my girls. We are piecing things together. We came into this game off of a big win against Clay County,14-4, and now we were able to get the win against a good Leslie County team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just a great day for my girls,\u201d she added. \u201cOne game at a time, one run at a time, one hit at a time, one play at a time. I can\u2019t say enough awesome things about my eighth grader Sawyer Stamper. She has come up big for us the last three games.!She\u2019s pitching great and she ended up, I think, with seven strikeouts tonight, no walks zero earned runs. Just did an outstanding job. We had a few missed steps on defense that costed us a couple of runs, but we also had some really stellar plays on defense as well coming from Lydia King and Apple Terrell.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stidham also credited the way her defense played in the win. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey showed out big tonight on third base and on shortstop,\u201d she admitted. \u201cThey came ready to back up their pitcher and the rest of the girls came through with other clutch plays. Then at the plate, my ladies came ready to hit. We\u2019re waiting on pitches looking for the right pitch and just saying poised at the plate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cChloe Bays was a beast at the plate tonight going two-for-three on the night with two RBI and Lydia King with a hit and an RBI,\u201d Stidham added. \u201cBoth coming in clutch with a few hits to get some runs scored. We were able to pick up some key hits along the way from Apple Terrell, Mikaila Hopkins, and Cami Price as well.  Just overall proud of my girls, and want to just keep this momentum going one game at a time. Let\u2019s Go Lady Redhounds.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
