The Panthers came out swinging, putting up three runs in the first inning and setting the tone from the jump in a 7-3 win over Jackson County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m happy with how we competed tonight,\u201d Knox Central coach Mike Bright said. \u201cWe saw a quality arm in the Thomas kid and I think we had a lot of quality at bats. Easton Ramsey threw well and we played well behind him. Bentley Cobb came in and closed for us and was able to finish it off. Another good region win for us tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Knox Central (9-6) stayed in control throughout the game, adding insurance runs in the fifth and sixth innings to keep the Generals from making a comeback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jonathan Hobbs led the way, going 2-for-4 with two runs scored while Matthew Powenski added two hits and an RBI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tate Marcum finished with two hits and an RBI, and Trevor Smith drove in two runs as the Panthers racked up nine hits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the mound, Easton Ramsey turned in a solid outing, working six innings, allowing four hits and three runs (two earned) while striking out four to earn the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bentley Cobb handled the final inning, striking out two to close it out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
