The Redhounds pounded No. 7 Knox Central last Friday with a 50-0 win. Corbin continues to show why it is the top-ranked team in the 13th Region, hands down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tom Greer\u2019s squad also received good news on the RPI front. The Redhounds are now ranked No. 1 in Class 4A RPI ratings which means if it continues to remain that way, the road to Kroger Field goes through Corbin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who\u2019s next? The Redhounds will host Lincoln County (1-6) Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2. Bell County (6-1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Bobcats continue to roll after knocking off Garrard County on the road last week with a 44-14 decision. Bell County has once again asserted itself as one of the best teams in Class 3A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who\u2019s next? Bell County will receive a major test Friday with Class 5A power Pulaski County (6-1) paying a visit to Log Mountain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
3. North Laurel (4-3)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Jaguars are now losers of two straight but with that said, both losses have came against two Class 5A powers. The big key to North Laurel\u2019s success the remainder of the season is to improve on offense. The Jaguars have too much talent to only be averaging 13 points the past two games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who\u2019s next? North Laurel will face a tough district test at home against Whitley County (1-6) on Thursday. This by no means is an easy game for the Jaguars. When these two teams meet up, it\u2019s always a competitive contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
4. Pineville (7-0)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Mountain Lions will face their first team with a winning record since their 50-14 victory over Paris on Sept. 2. We really like the way Pineville is playing, especially when the Mountain Lions are playing at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who\u2019s next? The Mountain Lions will host defending district champion Williamsburg (4-2) on Friday. Can Pineville put an end to the Yellow Jackets\u2019 23-game district win streak? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
5. Williamsburg (4-2)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We keep doubting the Yellow Jackets, and they keep proving us wrong. Williamsburg picked up a big 26-16 win over Harlan last Friday <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who\u2019s next? The Yellow Jackets travel to Pineville (7-0) with the winner moving one step closer to becoming the district\u2019s top seed. Williamsburg has currently won 23 district games in a row.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
6. Middlesboro (5-3)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the Yellow Jackets are healthy, they are a tough team to beat. Middlesboro cruised past Leslie County and moved up to the No. 6 spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who\u2019s next? The Yellow Jackets have a bye this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
7. Knox Central (4-3)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Panthers took one on the chin last Friday, losing to No. 1 Corbin, 50-0. Knox Central will look to get back on track this week with another important district game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who\u2019s next? Wayne County (5-2) will pay a visit to Barbourville Friday with hopes of beating the Panthers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
8. Harlan (5-2)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Green Dragons hung tough against Williamsburg but ended up losing, 26-16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who\u2019s next? Harlan will host district foe Lynn Camp (2-5) on Friday <\/p>\n\n\n\n
9. Clay County (4-3)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Tigers have suffered two consecutive losses against two good teams. Clay County will look to get back on track Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Tigers will host Perry Central (5-2) Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
10. Harlan County (3-4)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Black Bears rested up a bit this past week due to a bye. They\u2019re hoping to put an end to a two-game losing skid Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
