Williams was in complete control once again, tossing a one-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts over five innings, allowing just two walks while overpowering the Lady Warriors lineup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the plate, Bretz led the charge, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI while Messer delivered the biggest swing of the night with a grand slam, finishing with a home run and four RBI to break the game open. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe had a really good performance tonight from Kenzie in the circle and defensively, we made some really good plays behind her that kept Southwestern from getting anything going offensively,\u201d South Laurel coach Carly Mink said. \u201cOffensively, we had some really good at bats that lead to getting runners on base and were able to get some timely hits to score some runs. Lexi Messer had a big home run that broke the game open.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
South Laurel (4-0) also got contributions from Addison Messer (RBI), Kiley Dunaway (RBI), and Morgan Jackson, who scored a run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
