SOMERSET \u2014 Southwestern broke used a two-run sixth inning to knock for North Laurel, 4-2, on Saturday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jaguars (0-1) got on the scoreboard early with a run in the first inning, but Southwestern answered with two runs of its own to take a 2-1 lead. North Laurel battled back and scored a run in the top of the seventh, but couldn\u2019t get any closer.  North Laurel finished with six hits in the contest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe played well defensively, no errors and our pitchers threw well enough to win,\u201d North Laurel coach Darren McWhorter said. \u201cBradyn Evans started through three innings. Ashton Napier threw 2.2 innings and Cam Hinkle .1.  We just left too many guys on in scoring position (8). Still have some guys out with basketball. They should be back on Monday. Overall, I was pleased just have to get the timely hits.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cameron Smith and Eli Holt each drove in a run while Cam Hinkle, Zac Johnston, Colton Gilbert, and Colton Stewart added hits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the mound, Bradyn Evans started and worked three innings, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out two. Ashton Napier took the loss in relief, and Hinkle added a brief outing late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
