Emma Carl blasted a leadoff home run to open the game, and the Lady Jaguars never looked back, rolling to a 13-2 win over Rockcastle County to improve to 2-0 on the young season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Carl\u2019s early swing ignited a big offensive night for North Laurel, which finished with 13 runs on 15 hits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGood game tonight from our girls,\u201d North Laurel coach Chris Edwards said. \u201cCrazy schedule today with the boys\u2019 basketball in the state tournament and no school. Our girls showed up to BP with a great mindset and were ready to play. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGood pitching performance tonight from Emma and Caylee,\u201d he added. \u201cOnly gave up five hits and the two runs. Got some quality work from those two tonight. Offensively, we had a bunch of hits, multiple hits from Katie Sams, Bella Finley, Lucy Linville, Presley Griffin, and Katie Keen. RBI\u2019s from six of the 9 nine hitters \u2014 home runs from Emma and two from Griffin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presley Griffin delivered the biggest blow of the game \u2014 twice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Griffin went 4-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI, leading a balanced attack that kept pressure on Rockcastle County from start to finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lucy Jo Linville added a strong performance at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored while Bella Finley chipped in two hits and two RBI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Katie Keen finished with three hits, and Reeselyn Garland added a hit and two RBI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
