PINEVILLE \u2014 Bell County locked up the 52nd District\u2019s top seed on Tuesday, but it wasn\u2019t easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harlan County hung tough with the Bobcats, trailing only by one points entering the fourth quarter before the Bobcats pulled off a 54-47 win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bell County is 19-5 overall, and finished district play with a 6-0 mark. The Black Bears are now 15-9 and 3-2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe really struggled tonight you gotta give Harlan County a lot of credit they came out and played tremendously hard,\u201d Bell County coach Brad Sizemore said. \u201cWe\u2019ve have played five games in the last seven days and I think we are just a little flat and that\u2019s no excuse but with that being said it\u2019s always good to get a big district win and finish the regular season undefeated in district play and wrap up the one seed which I\u2019m really proud of our guys showing a lot of heart down the stretch, we could\u2019ve lost the game, but we found a way to pull it out.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blake Burnett led Bell County with 21 points while Ethan Buell added 15 points, and Braxton Ferguson chipped in eight points. Cayden Huff added seven points, and Jaxson Thomas scored three points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Black Bears\u2019 Reggie Cottrell led all scorers with 24 points while Trent Cole added eight points, and Brennan Blevins finished with seven points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
