\u201cAfter not playing for over a week, we expected a sloppy game and that\u2019s what we got,\u201d Clay County coach Gemma Parks said. \u201cWe finished the first half strong, but came out flat in the third. We were able to pull it out in the fourth, but we must be cleaner in our late game execution. At the end of the day any road win against a good opponents a great one and those tight, late game situations are great to be in.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The victory moves the Lady Tigers to 12-10, while the Lady Black Bears drop to 9-11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Clay County jumped out early, taking a 12-6 lead after the first quarter behind balanced scoring and solid defense. The Lady Tigers continued to control the tempo in the second period, stretching their lead to 25-16 at halftime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Harlan County made its move in the third quarter, outscoring Clay to cut into the deficit and pull within 33-32 entering the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The final period came down to execution as Clay County made enough plays at both ends of the floor to pull off the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maci White led Clay County with 15 points, while Carly Fultz added 11. Lauryn Sizemore scored eight points, and Madison Pendland added six points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
