Hopkins scored eight points in the first quarter, seven in the second quarter, eight more in the third quarter while capping off the fourth quarter with seven more points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The win improved Whitley County to 10-8 while Barbourville falls to 4-10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe gutted out a tough win on the road. We came out not ready to play, and battled foul trouble all night,\u201d Whitley County coach Ronnie Collier said. \u201cBarbourville deserves a lot of credit because they had more energy on both ends of the floor. Maddy had a big night for us offensively. Jonna played well in very limited minutes. Aubrey and Lydia both made big 3s in the fourth quarter. We have a quick turnaround and play a rivalry game with Williamsburg, tomorrow. Go Colonels.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hopkins\u2019 eight points in the first quarter the the Lady Colonels a 13-8 lead but Barbourville rallied in the second quarter behind Bre Engle\u2019s nine points while Marleigh Martin added five points, Sadie Hoffman chipped in three points while Makenna Stewart scored two points as the Lady Tiger held a 27-25 edge at halftime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Martin hit two 3-pointers and scored 13 points in the third quarter, allowing Barbourville to extend its lead to 45-37 entering the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seven points from Hopkins, six points from Jonna Rice, and four points from Aubrie Fore allowed the Lady Colonels to rally and secure the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hopkins led all scorers with 30 points while Rice followed with 10 points and Fore finished with nine points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
