Knox Central (4-2) at Corbin (6-0)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When it comes to these two teams, Corbin has dominated the series. The Redhounds have won the past eight meetings while posting an 11-1 mark against the Panthers since 1998.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The key to Knox Central\u2019s success is to heal up. If the Panthers are healthy, this could be a good matchup. It\u2019s going to be interesting to see if Corbin\u2019s defense can contain Knox Central\u2019s Steven Partin. The Redhound defense did allow over 500 yards last week against Simon Kenton. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who wins? Corbin comes out on top 49-20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
North Laurel (4-2) at Pulaski County (6-1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Whoever wins this game will have an inside track of hosting a home playoff game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Jaguars put up a hard fought fight last week at home before falling to Southwestern, 27-13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
North Laurel hasn\u2019t had much success against Pulaski County since 1998. The Maroons are winners of 10 straight against the Jaguars while posting a 14-1 mark against North Laurel dating back to 1998.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who wins? North Laurel\u2019s passing game needs to get going if the Jaguars are going to beat Pulaski County. Look for the Maroons to cruise, 35-13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Harlan (5-1) at Williamsburg (6-1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you go by the KHSAA\u2019s RPI system, the Green Dragons are slight favorites over Jerry Herron\u2019s Williamsburg Yellow Jackets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This game can be broken down pretty simple: If Harlan establishes its ground attack, it will win. If the Yellow Jackets can get its passing game going, they\u2019ll win. They have won the past six meetings between the two teams. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
So what\u2019s it gonna be?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who wins? We are going with Williamsburg in a close one. We believe playing at home will be huge for the Yellow Jackets. Williamsburg wins, 30-25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Leslie County (3-3) at Middlesboro (4-3)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These two teams are ready for a big matchup this week. The Eagles\u2019 passing attack, led by Landry Collett, will be hard to contain. Collett is one of the best quarterbacks in the mountains. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Middlesboro also possesses one of the best quarterback in the mountains in Cayden Grigsby. He was out last week due to an injury. The big question is will he play this week?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who wins? OK. Since we aren\u2019t sure if Grigsby is gonna play or not, we decided to do this: If Grigsby plays, Middlesboro wins, 42-36. If Grigsby doesn\u2019t win, Leslie County wins 49-28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bell County (5-1) at Garrard County (2-4)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Look for the duo of Daniel Thomas and Dawson Woolum to have another fantastic game this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Bobcats should dominate from beginning until end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who wins? Bell County rolls, 42-14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Southwestern (6-0) at Whitley County (1-5)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Colonels put up a fight against Pulaski County last week, and we expect them to do the same against Southwestern. With that said, the Warriors are pretty darn good. They pulled away from North Laurel last week and we expect the same this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who wins? Southwestern remains unbeaten, 49-14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Clay County (4-2) at Letcher Central (5-2)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The winner of this matchup will more than likely have the inside track in hosting a home playoff game. The Tigers are coming off their worst loss of the season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who wins? We are taking the Cougars in this one, 42-40.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pineville (6-0) at Lynn Camp (2-4)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Former Lynn Camp coach Allen Harris brings in his unbeaten Mountain Lions against a Wildcat squad that has struggled to score points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who wins? Look for the running clock to come into play in this matchup. Pineville wins 49-6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ft. Knox (2-4) at Jackson County (0-7)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Generals have struggled the entire season, and we expect the same to happen against Ft. Knox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
