\u201cWe played sloppier than we wanted and had lapses at times, but at the end of the day a wins a win,\u201d Clay County coach Gemma Parks said. \u201cJumpers weren\u2019t falling as much tonight and we responded by doing a good job scoring inside. The girls responded after halftime and played an awesome 3rd quarter to put the game away.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Lady Tigers (10-8) were steady throughout and took control after halftime, outscoring Perry Central 24\u201310 in the third quarter to build a commanding lead. Clay County never trailed in the game and improved its momentum with another solid team performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The game was tight early, with Clay County holding a slim 15\u201314 advantage after the first quarter before extending the lead to 31\u201328 at halftime. The Lady Tigers then turned up the pressure coming out of the locker room, pushing the margin to double digits and putting the game out of reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Carly Fultz led the Lady Tigers with 18 points and eight rebounds, continuing her strong play on both ends of the floor. Maci White added 13 points, while Madison Pendland scored eight. Harper Rice chipped in six points and pulled down 10 rebounds, and Anna Samples finished with three points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Clay County shot 26-of-58 from the field and controlled the glass with a 31\u201326 rebounding advantage. The Lady Tigers also capitalized on turnovers, scoring 20 points off Perry Central miscues and outscoring the Commodores 34\u201324 in the paint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
