Despite a dominant 43-point performance from junior Mariella Claybrook, North Laurel couldn\u2019t overcome No. 10-ranked Campbell County, falling 79-68 on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Claybrook carried the Lady Jaguars offensively, pouring in 43 points and knocking down 9-of-10 free-throw attempts in the loss. Bella Lewis added 10 points as North Laurel dropped to 10-4 on the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Camels were able to create separation behind consistent scoring and strong perimeter defense, limiting North Laurel\u2019s outside shooting throughout the night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Jaguars struggled from long range, finishing just 1-for-17 from three-point territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe didn\u2019t shoot the ball well tonight\u201d he said. \u201cGoing 1-for-17 from 3 makes it hard to win, but the bigger issue right now is our fundamentals. Defensively, we\u2019re not where we need to be, and our passing and decision making hurt us. We had chances throughout the game, but every time we had an opportunity to make a run, we broke down in areas that have nothing to do with shooting.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
