LEXINGTON \u2014 Another game, another battle with a top 20 team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fourteenth ranked North Laurel managed to outlast No. 17 Marshall County in overtime on Saturday, winning, 59-56.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jaguars are now 7-3, and will face-off against Bryan Station on Sunday during the White, Greer, and Maggard Holiday Classic. The loss dropped the Marshalls to 8-2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe were very fortunate to get a win tonight,\u201d North Laurel coach Nate Valentine said. \u201cI thought we played very poorly on both ends of the floor and Marshall County had a lot to do with it. In the end we did what we needed to do to win but I don\u2019t think anyone in our locker room is happy about it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

North Laurel led throughout the game with leads of 18-11 at the end of the first quarter, 29-22 at halftime, and 43-36 entering the fourth quarter before Marshall County began to rally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Marshalls outscored the Jaguars 10-3 in the fourth quarter to force overtime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

North Laurel secured the win in the extra period as Jordan Rawlings scored five points while the Jaguars hit 9-of-13 free throw attempts down the stretch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reece Davidson and Cooper Elza both scored 15 points in the win while Rawlings and Kaiden Allen had eight points apiece. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
