The Lady Colonels\u2019 latest triumph caps an impressive regular season campaign that sees them enter postseason play with a sparkling 30-5 record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The night also carried special meaning for the program, as Whitley County honored its three seniors \u2014 Courtney Claxton, Abby Lawson, and Chandra Price \u2014 in a pre-match ceremony celebrating their contributions to one of the region\u2019s most consistent volleyball programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt was a good night for us and we got to recognize our three seniors \u2014 Courtney Claxton, Abby Lawson and Chandra Price,\u201d Whitley County coach David Halcomb said. \u201cThese girls have put in a lot of time for our program and been a part of many wins and championships. It hope it was a special night for them. With that being said, it was an emotional night and I don\u2019t feel like we played as crisp as we had been, but again I think some of that had to do with not having our emotions in check and focus we needed to have. McCreary Central has a solid team and I was impressed with them defensively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe end our regular season with a 30-5 record, which is quite an accomplishment,\u201d he added. \u201cI told the girls after the match that it\u2019s a clean slate now \u2014 the wins, the losse ls are really irrelevant at this point. We have a big match with Williamsburg on Monday that could end our season. We will be ready. None of us are ready for this season to end. This group is a joy to be around and to coach. I\u2019m proud of them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
