LONDON \u2014 South Laurel finished regular season play on a high note, knocking off Harlan County 25-17, 25-17, 18-25, and 26-24 on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Cardinals will enter postseason play next week with a 13-18 mark while the Lady Black Bears fall to 15-13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTonight\u2019s win was a big one for us,\u201d South Laurel coach Shelley Nunley said. \u201cHarlan County is a strong team with some powerful hitters, so I\u2019m extremely proud of how our passers and blockers were able to handle their big swings. We finished the night with four different players reaching double digits in digs, led by libero Samantha Gay, who recorded an impressive 25 total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOn the offensive side, several hitters had standout performances, including freshman Josilynn Sullivan, who led the team with 12 kills,\u201d she added. \u201cOur senior setter Nora Clark, who earned her 1,000th career assist earlier this week, added 30 more tonight, which we can’t brag on enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was the perfect way to close out our regular season, and even more special as it marked the final home game for our four seniors,\u201d Nunley continued. \u201cI couldn\u2019t be happier with how the team played and the energy they brought on every end of the game. This is a great boost for us heading into postseason, which is where all of our focus is aimed following tonight’s excitement.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
