It\u2019s true\u2014the Bengals have gone out and grabbed a new quarterback. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And not just any quarterback. It\u2019s someone Cincinnati fans know all too well: Joe Flacco. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yes, that Joe Flacco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Super Bowl\u2013winning Joe Flacco. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The same Flacco who used to be the Bengals\u2019 personal punching bag, losing to us time and time again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now, he\u2019s wearing stripes. How, you ask? Let\u2019s just say Jake Browning hasn\u2019t exactly been lighting the world on fire since Joe Burrow\u2019s injury. Sure, on Sunday he tossed three touchdowns\u2014but he also threw three picks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
That doesn\u2019t cut it, and it led to yet another loss, our third straight after starting 2-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The signs have been there for weeks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The noise got too loud for Zac Taylor and the Blackburn\/Brown family to ignore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The front office finally acted, sending off a fifth-round pick and getting back Flacco along with a sixth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now, look\u2014I know we\u2019re not getting the Flacco of the early 2010s. But the man is a proven winner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The real concern is age and durability. Can his body still withstand the punishment? Because let\u2019s be honest\u2014our offensive line has been a disaster. If they can\u2019t block, Flacco won\u2019t last. But if they can give him just a chance, maybe\u2014just maybe\u2014this is the last flicker of hope we have to stay relevant without Burrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
