LOUISA \u2014 North Laurel spoiled Lawrence County\u2019s homecoming on Friday by displaying dominant efforts on both sides of the ball.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jaguars built a 13-0 halftime lead before defeating the Bulldogs, 21-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

North Laurel (3-1) started out of the game quick, scoring 13 points behind two touchdown passes from Jude McWhorter to Bryson Nantz and Cam Anderson in the first quarter before adding another score (Bryson Nantz three-yard touchdown run) with 4:22 left in the third quarter to take a 21-0 edge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m really proud of our team and our defense,\u201d North Laurel  coach Steven Nelson said. \u201cWe came in as underdogs again and the kids were ready to go play. We had a couple touchdowns called back and need to execute better and not get so many flags. I\u2019m proud of the way they responded and how physical we were. This group continues to improve each week and I am very proud of them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The loss turns out to be Lawrence County\u2019s first of the season. The Bulldogs entered the game ranked No. 9 in Class 3A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
