After getting off to a 0-7 start, the hard work and never-give-up attitude paid off Tuesday as South Laurel stunned Corbin in overtime with a 2-1 win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gracie Hoskins scored both goals in the win for South Laurel while Trista Brown added an assist. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe intensity was evident tonight,\u201d Perkins said. \u201cThe girls came out from the beginning of the first half and didn\u2019t stop fighting till the whistle blew after our second goal in overtime. Teamwork was there and we looked like a complete different team. I knew a win was coming for us and we\u2019re happy that it was tonight. So proud of them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe looked rough tonight,\u201d Corbin coach Hannah Goins said. \u201cWe definitely didn\u2019t play our best game. We had plenty of opportunities but we just couldn\u2019t capitalize. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe played slower than normal and South definitely took advantage of that,\u201d she added. \u201cWe were just off tonight. Now we just need to regroup and be ready going into the end of the season.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
