Saturday proved it once again as the Corbin Lady Redhounds shocked the 13th Region\u2019s top-ranked team, handing the Whitley County Lady Colonels their first loss of the season in the championship match of the Kentucky 2A, Section 7 volleyball tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Corbin came out strong and never let up, sweeping the Lady Colonels in straight sets, 2-0, to capture the title. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The win not only secured the Lady Redhounds a championship but also served notice that they are a team to watch moving forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI couldn\u2019t be more proud of this group,\u201d Corbin coach Krystal Jones said. \u201cWe walked into a tough environment and our girls showed resilience and maturity beyond their years. They stayed level-headed and didn\u2019t let the swings of the game dictate the outcome, a challenge for any senior team, let alone a&nbsp;predominantly freshman group with an 8th-grade setter.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEvery single player stepped up, carried weight, and played a role in this win,\u201d she added. \u201cThis group is something special.&nbsp;It\u2019s a great day to be a Redhound, and we\u2019ll keep building from here. Go Hounds.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To reach the finals, Corbin rolled past McCreary Central and Harlan County, winning both matches by identical 2-0 scores. The Lady Redhounds improved to 8-4 on the season with the victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Whitley County, the loss marked the first blemish of an otherwise perfect year. The Lady Colonels fell to 8-1 but remain one of the region\u2019s most dangerous teams as the season heads into the heart of district play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery
