<\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"CORBIN \u2014 In the wake of Jeff Chadwell\u2019s recent passing, the Corbin Little League Board convened on Tuesday night to elect a new president. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
After thoughtful deliberation, the board chose Chris Griffin, a dedicated member of the league for over a decade, to take on the leadership role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reflecting on this significant moment, Griffin expressed mixed emotions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt has been more than 25 years since Corbin Little League last needed a new president, and to be honest, it is a bittersweet moment for me,\u201d he said. \u201cOn one hand, I lost one of my best friends, Jeff Chadwell, but on the other, I am honored to not only carry on but to build upon the strong foundation Jeff has created for youth baseball in Corbin.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Griffin has spent the last 12 years as both a coach and board member, working closely with Chadwell and other board members. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m confident this experience has prepared me to step into this new role and carry on the strong history of Corbin Little League baseball,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earning the position of Little League President is a significant honor for Griffin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI no longer have a child involved in little league and that was one of many things I admired about Jeff\u2019s years of service and dedication,\u201d he said. \u201cHe didn\u2019t have to be there, but he chose to be there so that he could help all of the kids of the community. With that said, moving into this role is another chance for me to give back to a program that has given so much to my family over the years. Corbin has one of the strongest Little League associations in the state and it\u2019s honestly something of which our town should be very proud.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Griffin\u2019s vision for the future of the league emphasizes creating a positive and inclusive environment for all players. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
