LONDON \u2014 North Laurel\u2019s boys\u2019 golf team remained busy this past weekend, fielding two teams to play in separate tournaments on the same day.
North Laurel\u2019s \u201cteam two\u201d consisted of Jackson Storm, Briley Fiechter, Brennon Larkey, Ayden Barton, and Todd Mink while \u201cteam one\u201d consisted of Max Dotson, Will Sutton, West Storm, Espn Lewis, and Jayden Shultz.
Team two, who played at Battlefield, finished with a 357, led by Storm\u2019s 83. Fiechter followed with an 87 while Barton finished with a 93, Larkey shot a 94, and Mink turned in a 115.
Team One finished with a 351 at the Taylor County Invitational as Dotson shot an impressive 77, followed by Sutton and Storm \u2014 both players finished with identical 90s. Lewis had a 90 while Shultz finished with a 94.
\u201cWe played at two separate tournaments on Saturday,\u201d North Laurel\u2019s coach Chris stone said. \u201cThe second team was at Battlefield with good competition of several local teams. The team played well considering it was the first 18-hole event for two of them, and only the second or third event for the other three. It was hot and inexperience can lead to tough holes. But that group did as expected and had good learning moments and showed potential.
\u201cThe first team went to Taylor County, and played at the Campbellsville Country Club,\u201d he added. \u201cThe tournament hosted 27 teams which was full of top 10 teams across the state. It\u2019s one of the few tournaments in the regular season that is ran and has the feel of a state tournament round. We go there to get experience to that type of atmosphere and compete against the best in the state. We performed well, with a good showing from the team and a great showing from the ninth grader Max Dotson. That tournament will make this team ready for the post season.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
