<\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"MANCHESTER \u2014 North Laurel lived up to its 13th Region No. 1 ranking on Wednesday, cruising past Jackson County in the 49th District Fastpitch Tournament title game with an 11-1 victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Lady Jaguars scored at least a run in every inning, including three runs in each of the third, fourth, and fifth innings to secure the 10-run win in five innings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnother good win for our girls tonight,\u201d North Laurel coach Chris Edwards said. \u201cWe played very well, played our game. Got good pitching, good hitting, ran the bases very well and didn\u2019t make any errors. That all adds up to a good night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOffensively, 12 hits, four doubles, with multiple hits from Emma Carl, Morgan Edwards, Bella Finley and Tessa Monhollen,\u201d he added. \u201cEmma threw another good game. Only three hits and one run. Both our pitchers have thrown very well this season. Defensively, we were perfect. That\u2019s the way I like to play and tonight we executed it perfectly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is the second goal of our season,\u201d Edwards continued. \u201cWe got ourselves in position during the regular to get the one seed in the district tournament and it paid off for us tonight. Region draw is Friday and the games begin Monday. We are in a good spot, we will take it one game at a time and hopefully get some good results. Proud of my girls tonight. Go Jags.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tessa Monhollen came up clutch, connecting with two doubles while driving in three runs for North Laurel. Morgan Edwards connected with two hits, driving in two runs and scoring twice while Emma Carl had two hits, an RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Bella Finley delivered two hits and stole two bases while Bella Sizemore and Katie Keen both finished with a hit, an RBI and a run scored apiece. Sizemore also stole three bases. Ellie Adams had a hit, an RBI, and a run scored while Katie Sams finished with a hit and a run scored. Saige McClure drove in two runs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Lady Jaguars totaled 12 hits, four of those extra bases, and stole 10 bases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Carl picked up the win in the pitcher\u2019s circle, allowing only three hits and one earned run. She struck out five batters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kylie Moore led Jackson County (16-15) with two hits and an RBI while Blakelynn Fee finished with a hit and a run scored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
