SOMERSET \u2014 Jeremy Shope\u2019s Whitley County Colonels had heavy hearts during their come-from-behind eight-inning 3-2 win over Pulaski County on Tuesday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Colonels notched another win but had to overcome their emotions midway through the contest after finding out former Whitley County classmate Tye Hamblin had passed away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whitley County trailed 2-0 but dug deep, scoring a run in the fifth, seventh and eighth innings to pull off the one-run victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur guys have a lot of fight in them,\u201d Shope said. \u201cTough game where we had to fight through adversity. We received some awful news about losing one of our former football players in an accident. Our guys cheer for each other and we cry for each other \u2014 special group of guys.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kip Allen and EJ Allen both had run-scoring hits in the win while Christian Wilson came in relief of Kip Allen, pitching the final four innings to secure the win. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wilson allowed two hits and struck out one batters while Kip Allen tossed four innings, allowing two hits, two earned runs while striking out four batters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
