The South Laurel Lady Cardinals have had a successful season thus far. With a win against Pulaski County Monday May 5, their record stands at 19-4 with only two region losses. Those losses both came against North Laurel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bailey Frazier has been key for the Cardinals. She has an impressive batting average of .485 and has 33 hits on the season, the most of anyone on her team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA big moment for me this season has been moving up to hit leadoff. I am very thankful to have this opportunity and seeing my hard work pay off,\u201d Frazier said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After having to overcome a meniscus tear, Frazier has had to work very hard to get back to normal and play softball to her full potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Frazier said, \u201cA challenge I had to overcome in softball is playing through constant pain from tearing my meniscus. Regaining enough mobility and strength to support myself for the season was definitely hard but so worth it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The most successful teams are not only built on stats and wins, but on trust and special bonds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe chemistry on our team is very close. I have played multiple seasons with my current teammates and we are able to trust and rely on each other no matter the situation,\u201d said Frazier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the regular season is coming to an end, the postseason is quickly approaching. South Laurel will definitely be a team to watch with strong momentum and determination to make a tournament run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
