And the way things are looking, McClure may never cool off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She continued her dominance at the plate during the Lady Jaguars\u2019 5-0 win over Clay County on Monday, going 2-for-2 while connecting with a triple, driving in a run, and scoring once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The win improved North Laurel\u2019s win streak to five games while the Lady Jaguars\u2019 record stands at a 13th Region-best, 19-4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chris Edwards\u2019 squad has already wrapped up the 49th District\u2019s top seed, and is currently 3-0 against district opponents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cQuality win tonight,\u201d Edwards said. \u201cJason (Rice) has his girls playing really well. Their record is very deceiving and they are going to be a tough out when postseason rolls around. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOffensively, we had some hits and seemingly had runners on base all night,\u201d he added. \u201cWe just couldn\u2019t get the big hit especially with two outs. Saige the only player with multiple hits. We also had eight or nine walks. Lots of base runners.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
North Laurel scored two runs in the first inning, a run in the third inning, and two insurance runs in the fifth inning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Katie Sams finished with a hit, and a run scored while Emma Carl had a hit, and scored three times Bella Sizemore drove in two runs and Ellie Adams finished with an RBI. Morgan Edwards, Bella Finley, and Tessa Monhollen each had a hit apiece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Monhollen got the win, turning in a complete game effort while limiting Clay County to four hits. She also had five strikeouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPitching wise, Tessa was really good again,\u201d Edwards said. \u201cA four hit shutout. Pitched to her defense very well again tonight and they made every play. She\u2019s been really good all season. No game tomorrow and a road trip Thursday. We have plenty to work on and get better. We will go to work tomorrow. Go Jags.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
