LONDON \u2014 Ashton Napier\u2019s run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth inning proved to be the game-winning hit as North Laurel pulled off a 4-3 49th District win over Clay County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cameron Hinkle sealed the deal in the top of the seventh, allowing only a walk while striking out two batters as the Jaguars improved to 10-8, and 1-0 against district competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The loss dropped the Tigers to 9-9, and 0-2 in district play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was a big win as far as district seeding goes,\u201d North Laurel coach Darren McWhorter said. \u201cI thought we played well defensively. We only had one error and the two guys that stood out Offensively was Jude McWhorter and Ashton Napier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJude had a two-run run home run, and a triple while scoring twice,\u201d he added. \u201cAshton Napier had two RBI singles and gave us the go ahead run. I thought our four pitchers threw well. Cooper Parman started throwing two innings then Dylan Hurley threw four innings getting the win, and Cam Hinkle threw the seventh for the save.  Great team win.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
