Although the Knox Central Lady Panthers are having a losing season, senior Hannah Melton is still a standout player on the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Melton is a strong presence at the plate for the Panthers as her batting average stands at .567.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ever since she was little, Melton watched Knox Central softball and pictured herself wearing the same uniform as the girls she was cheering on from the stands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWearing the blue and gold is what I\u2019ve always dreamed of. Being able to wear the jerseys I watched girls play in when I was younger means a lot to me,\u201d Melton said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Melton recently signed to play college softball at Kentucky Christian University in Grayson, Kentucky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m most excited to represent the 13th region and our area. I feel like we don\u2019t get as much exposure or looks when it comes to the next level so I\u2019m very grateful,\u201d Melton said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As she looks ahead to the next chapter, Melton is thinking about the impact she wants to leave on the softball program at Knox Central.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
