After being limited to only one hit against Boyd County, the Jaguars (5-6) with 13 hits during their 14-0 win over Union County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cooper Elza turned in a perfect day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with an RBI, and three runs scored while Carter Kelley had two hits, three RBI, and two runs scored. Austin Napier also delivered at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and three runs scored while Cooper Parman dominated on the mound, picking up the win while pitching five shutout innings, and limiting Union County to only two hits. He also struck out seven batters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGreat way to finish the week,\u201d North Laurel coach Darrin McWhorter said. \u201cCooper Parman threw a great game, and we struck the ball well with several players having multiple hits. Their pitching was similar to the Strongville team we played. We didn\u2019t hit the ball. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Boyd County team we played was a different story,\u201d he added. \u201cWe saw a kid throwing 88 to 91 miles per hour, and Eli Holt broke up the no-hitter in the last inning. We made good adjustments at the plate played well defensively. That\u2019s what it takes to win games.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
North Laurel jumped out to a 2-0 lead before adding four runs in the second inning, and two more runs in the third inning. The Jaguars put the game out of reach with a six-run fifth inning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
