The Yellow Jackets captured their third consecutive win by defeating Harlan, 72-58, on Thursday to improve to 15-8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cProud of our team tonight,\u201d Hibbard said. \u201cFeels good to get a region win on the road. It was a very hostile environment. A good first quarter allowed us to build a solid lead, however Harlan did not go away. They challenged us in the second half and closed the gap with a 16-3 run. Proud of how we persevered and finished the game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNot sure we could have finished that type of game earlier in the season.,\u201d he added. \u201cOverall, it was good night for us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Williamsburg jumped on the Green Dragons from the start, building a 21-10 first quarter lead while never looking back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Yellow Jackets\u2019 lead was trimmed to 35-25 at halftime before Andrew Smith scored 10 points in the third quarter, allowing Williamsburg to take a 57-42 lead with eight minutes remaining.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Harlan attempted to rally but only managed to outscored the Yellow Jackets 16-15 in the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Smith led all scorers with 23 points while Lakin Cunagin added 15 points, and Conner Saylor scored 11 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
