WILLIAMSBURG \u2014 It looked as if Williamsburg was going to snap its 10-game losing skid during Monday\u2019s matchup with Bluegrass United but a nine-point lead entering the second quarter ended up as a 68-47 loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Yellow Jackets fell to 6-12 with a tough skate ahead. They\u2019ll travel to South Laurel Tuesday, host Corbin Wednesday before hosting Whitley County on Friday. They finish up the week with a home game on Saturday against Ligon Cogo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDidn\u2019t come away with the win,\u201d Williamsburg coach Melissia Douglas said. \u201cDown by two at the half. Bluegrass had some great shooters tonight. Overall, considering the sickness and injuries, I\u2019m pleased with their heart and hustle tonight. We played until the very end, just ran out of gas. We got a tough week ahead of us with four games left. Now it\u2019s all about finishing the week out strong.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Williamsburg came out red hot in the first quarter as Braylee Evans hit a 3-pointer and scored five points while Hannah Creekmore and Abby Moses added four points apiece to give their team a 16-7 edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Yellow Jackets only managed seven points in the second quarter as Bluegrass United fought back to take a 25-23 advantage into the locker room at halftime. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ellie Breeding added four points in the third quarter while Evans hit a 3-pointer but Williamsburg\u2019s deficit grew to 11 points (46-35) entering the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bluegrass United put the game away in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Lady Yellow Jackets, 22-12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evans and Moses led the Lady Yellow Jackets with 12 points apiece while Creekmore and Breeding scored eight points apiece. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
