CORBIN \u2014 A slow start from the Corbin Lady Redhounds didn\u2019t keep them from picking up steam in the second and third quarters on their way to another 50th District win on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Redhounds led 14-11 at the end of the first quarter but outscored Williamsburg 65-14 the remainder of the game en route to their 79-25 win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Corbin is now 14-5 overall, and 2-1 vs. 50th District opponents while the Lady Yellow Jackets falls 6-11, and 0-3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFeels good to get back in the win column tonight,\u201d Corbin coach Isaac Wilson said. \u201cI thought we had a lot of kids contribute and get some good minutes for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe understand district seeding is important and tonight was a step in that direction,\u201d he added. \u201cAny win inside the 50th District is a good win and we have to enjoy this one for tonight and then quickly set our sights on South Laurel for this coming Friday.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Redhounds knocked down seven 3-pointers in the win while hitting 6-of-10 free throw attempts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Corbin had four players score in double figures with Raegan Walker leading the way with 18 points while Kylie Clem added 17 points. Lydia King scored 11 points while Addy Wilson finished with 10 points. Michaela Williams added eight points in the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hannah Creekmore led the Lady Yellow Jackets with 11 points while three players finished with four points apiece. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHonestly, I\u2019m really proud of how the team came out in the first quarter,\u201d Williamsburg coach Melissia Douglas said. \u201cWe played with energy, focus, and confidence. But as the game went on, we struggled to maintain that level of intensity, and they took advantage of our mistakes. We\u2019ve got to learn to stay consistent and keep up the pressure for all four quarters, especially against a team of that caliber. There are definitely things we can take away from this game and improve on, but I\u2019m not going to let one bad result.\u201d overshadow the effort we showed early on.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
