The Lady Yellow Jackets managed to keep their perfect record intact by handing the Lady Wildcats a 44-39 loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Williamsburg (3-0) took advantage of Lynn Camp\u2019s slow start and never looked back in the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Lady Yellow Jackets led 16-4 after the first quarter and 26-16 at halftime Before taking a 35-26 edge entering the fourth quarter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Presley Spicer led Williamsburg with 13 points while Braylee Evans added 10 points. Hannah Creekmore scored nine points while Abby Moses finished with six points and Ellie Breeding added four points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFirst and foremost, I want to mention that tonight we played with intensity and energy,\u201d Williamsburg coach Melissia Douglas said. \u201cThese ladies came out ready to play on another level and proved that they\u2019re ready to add to their game defensively. In the second quarter, we struggled a little bit and we ran out of gas. As a coach, I\u2019m just taking this mistake as a learning opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThese ladies still held their composure and showed determination,\u201d she added. \u201cIt\u2019s what I hope will set us apart down the road. Presley Spicer tonight had another stellar performance with a double-double but the other ladies had their share of making moments count. Our seniors leadership on and off the court has been impeccable and then along with other players like Breeding,Evans, Moses,and Hamlin are putting in the hard work and making big plays to contribute to our success. It takes everyone. It\u2019s definitely a team effort. I can\u2019t go without mentioning (Lauren) Partin, she\u2019s exceptional and brings a lot of heart and hard work to the court. She is an awesome model to young ladies today.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lauren Partin led the Lady Wildcats with 23 points while Madison Weymers finished with nine points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe girls played tired in the first half tonight,\u201d Lynn Camp coach James Prewitt said. \u201cWe dug a hole early and we recovered, but we couldn\u2019t get over the hump. We were down 13 at one point and managed to get within three. We had some looks, missed some open shots, and some free throws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
